Joshua Apel joined the firm in 2019. After graduating from law school, Mr. Apel went to work out-of-state as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company. There, he spearheaded commercial litigation efforts around the country, including claims for breach of contract, breach of warranty, professional negligence, and fraud. Thereafter, Mr. Apel returned home to Michigan to continue his legal career, working as an associate attorney at a large metro-Detroit law firm where his duties included, among others, serving as a Special Assistant Attorney General for a Michigan state agency in relation to a multi-billion-dollar international infrastructure project.

During law school, Mr. Apel worked as a judicial intern for Judge Mark Goldsmith of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, served as a senior editor of the Washington University Jurisprudence Review, and spent a semester working in New York City for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Enforcement Department.

Mr. Apel graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in economics and a minor in philosophy, and he received his J.D. cum laude from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Mr. Apel is a member of the Michigan State Bar.
